Startup Interview with SPITCHE CEO “Kevin Markowski”
In my Startup Founder series I feature interviews with entrepreneurs with kickass profiles from all over the world. I hope they will inspire you as much as they inspire me! Today, we meet Kevin Markowski “Founder of Spitche”, .
Hey Kevin, I already know you very well, but for the others, who are you and what do you do?
Hey, I’m Kevin, co-founder and CEO at Spitche which is a platform allowing brands to transform their customers into nano-influencers.
Working on improving the brands-customers relationships and bringing great results from this collaboration 🙂
How did you start? What motivated you?
I launched & managed other startups previously, I even started the entrepreneurship adventure before ending my master’s degree.
I guess I already knew that I did not want this corporate career since I saw everything from inside during my internships.
Process are too long and freedom is in jail!
When I launched my first startup, I asked myself how I could use my community to spread the word in order to get new clients from their own network.
I did not find any tool for me and started to work on my own idea. The initial one changed a lot compared to the product we have now and we’re still improving everyday.
And have you encountered any obstacles in your entrepreneurship experience?
I could easily talk about experience, providers relationships, cash flow, market position, time to market, team management, pricing, business management, investment, time, etc… Should we make another interview to talk about all details? haha
Do you encourage anyone with to go with entrepreneurship?
The sooner the better!
Entrepreneurship is hard, you will lose money, time and ego. But you will learn so much experience.
Your added value will be much higher after 1 year of entrepreneurship than maybe 3 years of corporate career because you manage all tasks, increase your skills, network and open-mindedness.
Any advice for people who want to create their own business?
Start fast, fail fast! Measure the failure, understand why and start again.
I would sum up by the favorite quote of my friend Tim Cakir: “Tracking & Hacking”.
What are your favorite tools in a daily basis?
Can I say Spitche? LinkedIn, Hotjar, Hubspot, Appear.in, Trello…
If you wanna know my best growth hacking tools, I invite you to get in touch 😉
Let’s talk more now with one of my favorite subject 🙂
How do you grow your community around your brand/startup?
I would recommend to make a lot of content and participate to events or even organize it!
Events are definitely a great strategy to gather people together and generate leads through H2H (Human to Human) strategy. Then, it’s important to try to become expert/influencer into your own industry in order to be invited to talk about it and your brand at the same time.
What do you think about social media nowadays?
I think that Facebook is going down and Instagram is growing a lot.
I guess people overused Facebook the past 10 years and start to better manage their time on social media.
That’s why Instagram is interesting because it takes few times to keep in touch with your friends thanks to quick stories or simple image/video.
That’s also why a lot of brands are starting to make business on Instagram.
It also completely changes the way of communication.
We are all of us nano-influencers at least and have a power to refer, share, comment something… including about products & services from brands.
That’s a huge thing and brands should start to better think about it in order to adapt their strategy.
To know you even better, could you tell me what is your best achievement so far?
To live from my passion everyday!
I don’t say it’s easy everyday but I have the freedom of making my own things happen.
To be entrepreneur is hard at the beginning, specially when you start young because you don’t have a lot of experience or money but the adventure is amazing… you should try 😉
What values do you stand for?
Integrity. Deal is deal. I recommend to be honest in whatever you do.
You will maybe go slower sometimes but you will go far.
Don’t kill your competitors, play with them!
What’s next for you and your company?
We are fundraising at the moment, our first Seed, in order to accelerate on our V2 roadmap and increase the team! It’s just the beginning!!
Well thanks for this great time 🙂
